Message Hello everyone many moons ago i was having some trouble with the z and i wanted to check out the ptu, problem was the values in the 1990 manual are for the old type of unit and as a result very off. To make a long story short my problem was not with the PTU but rather one of my coil packs not being plugged in and the connection at the ecu was crooked after i had installed an airfuel ratio gauge which disabled spark to the other cylinder. However i thought it may be a good idea to provide the GOOD PTU values measured in ohms and on the diode setting, i used two different meters just to give you an idea of what you'll see one meter is fairly inexpensive (5.00 at harbor freight) and the other is about $45.00 at a local electronic shop(this one is the one i trust more because the junction gap between most transistors is in the range of .400-.700. TABLE 1 All of these values in the above table where taken using a BK TOOL

KIT METER model 2703B multimeter on the DIODE setting

TABLE 2 These Values were obtained with the CEN-TECH P35761 meter (a.k.a

Harbor Freight Meter) on the diode setting

Table 3 No values obtained on either meter both on ohms and diode

setting

TABLE 4 values are indicated as follows 627/.401 first number is CENTECH

meter, second number is BK TOOL KIT METER and first row of numbers is diode

setting, the next row is ohms(both meters same values)
